I've wanted to visit the Yorkshire Wildlife Park since it first opened (in 2009) however I never found a chance to go until now. When me and James found ourselves with both the day off we decided to make a day of it and visit and let me tell you I was way too excited and it exceed all my expectations.

I don't think the pricing is too expensive in the grand scheme of things. At the moment for the summer season it's £16.50 for adults, £14.50 for students and senior citizens, under 2's are free and its £13.50 for children from 3-15.

There is so much to see and do as well as the park actually expanding for the summer to include a safari walk through with the addition of some Rhinos and zebras coming. There is also loads of different experiences that they provide such as the junior ranger experience for children where they help feed animals and clean the pens. However they also have an 'adult' version which would make a great gift.

On the day I went it was so sunny and all the animals were out and about, albeit that many were sleeping but it was lovely to see them totally relaxed and it was fun spotting them all. My favourite was the Wallaby walk way where you were allowed to stroke them if they came up to you and also seeing the giraffes.

If you live around or near the Yorkshire Wildlife Park then I really recommend it as it was a fun day out with so much to see.
