This month I only managed to read 2 books. Which i'm not too bothered about however I do feel like I've slightly gone into a reading slump just because the two books I read didn't capture my attention.

001. Look Who's Back - Timur Vermes.
You know when you want to like a book because it has promise, funniness and something a bit different. I wanted to enjoy this book, laugh out loud, tell people they should read it because it was different (in a good way, as in it's about Hitler coming back). Yeh, that wasn't the case for me. It dragged on for me a lot. I found myself wanting a chapter to be over just so I could take a break. (I'm one of those who has to finish on a chapter.) I just didn't find it funny or didn't find anything amazing about it. I didn't expect the understand the meaning of life from this book but from how others talked about this book, I thought it would be a great read. It was an okay read. I enjoyed the first few chapters and then did the whole 'I want to read but I don't want to read what I'm currently reading but I can't not finish the book'. (I actually skimmed the last 100 pages). I find trying to make a topic involving Hitler 'funny'a strange thing to want to do and yes it may cause emotion, but it's a bit tasteless in my opinion. They don't keep anything subtle and the speeches he makes can be a little uncomfortable to read. However it could be completely different when you read it and you might like it. So even though I wouldn't really recommend it to anyone, If you find yourself being interested in it then go for it.

002. The Old Man And The Sea - Ernest Hemingway
I liked this book. I didn't hate it nor did I love it. However It was a nice simple story which was about a man who was a fishermen and catches a really big fish. It has different meaning to different people and though I can appreciate this and Ernest Hemingway's writing I just found it slightly boring.
