WHAT I READ IN THE MONTH OF AUGUST.

7.9.14

I would like to say that I did not kill the David Tennant Doll. aha.

The selection - Kiera Cass
Half of me was thinking I wouldn't like this book that much but oh my gosh I loved it. I thought the characters were wonderful and really all bought something to the story. I think I enjoyed it because it reminded me a lot of those TV shows where theres one person looking for love and they have to choose one person out of so many. This would make a great tv series or a movie!. I can't wait to get my hands on the next book and see what happens, I got so hooked into what was happening I didn't want it to end at all!.

The woman he loved before - Dorothy Koomson
I love books with mystery and changes of views so this book was right up my street. It's also a great chick flick book and would be great for a holiday read. I had no idea what was going to happen or how it would end and even when you thought you knew what was happening something else happened that made it go on a different direction.

Wither - Lauren Destefano
Can I just say that the cover of this series is seriously beautiful! When I first laid my eyes on them in a youtube video I just loved the cover. This book had be hooked from the beginning. It was fast paced and I just loved all the characters. I even cried towards the end which is something I do rarely. I found myself so into this book I didn't want it to end at all and can't wait to read the rest of the series.

A storm of swords. 1: Steel and snow - George R.R. Martin
Finally finished this book! Just like his others it takes a serious effort and concentration to read this book. For ages it took me to get into it and half the time I wasn't even reading most words. I found myself liking certain characters chapters more then others and when I didn't like a chapter I found myself drifting through and hardly taking any of it in. His books are just so detailed and scene setting and death. Wasn't my favourite book so far but it had some good moments!

Fated - Alyson Noel
I didn't really like this book personally. The blurb makes it sound like it would be great and it's a fairly chunky book. However nearly 95% of this book was just pure blah. So many descriptive words for one thing, so many 'ill tell you later', 'you're not ready' and 'all in good time' (I don't think there was was a 'good' time in this book) that I honestly got sick of it. The character development was none existent and the romance was poor. I don't think I can even stomach reading the rest of the series. It had great potential but honestly just wasn't the best.

The shining - Stephen King
My second Stephen King book! This had me on edge and I could not put it down. Stephen King just has a way with words and I may have to admit that it is one of my favourite books that I have read so far this year!. A book hasn't really had me on the dye of my seat and this could really give me nightmares if I thought about it. I loved all the characters, Wendy a little less because she annoyed me at some point but the book was brilliant. Not sure if i will be reading the sequel though.

Lizzie - S.E
I enjoyed it. I don't really know what to say. It reminded me a bit of American Horror Story with all these hallucinations. It was fast paced. The main character developed nicely but her boyfriend became a different character all together without warning. I wouldn't call it a horror like they claim it to be but its a nice short read.

Grave Minder - Melissa Marr
I have a confession to make. I did not finish this book. I did not want to finish this book. I wanted to stop reading it straight after the first chapter. It bored me and I just could not get on with it. The whole concept was okay but it just wasn't special, it just didn't do something for me. It didn't hook me in and to be honest it was mainly boring. I did try, I nearly got halfway through which was good since I found myself not wanting to pick it up.
