THE CEMENT GARDEN REVIEW

25.9.14

I firstly have to say that this book is not for everyones taste. The cement garden by Ian McEwan is a story about four children who become very dysfunctional after their parent's deaths. I don't want to give too much away. The reason that this may not be suitable for everyone is due to the fact of slight incest.

The cement garden gives a disturbing picture of what could occur when kids/ siblings are isolated from the community and without adult supervision. It's only a small book but right from page 1 it has things going on. I liked this book because Ian McEwan can write wonderfully and he really draws you in and keeps you wanting more.

I can't wait to read some more from this Author and I think Attonement is next on my list. I gave this book a 4 out of 5 stars.
